Tanka
Poetry Description:
A Tanka is a Japanese poem consisting of 5 lines with 31 syllables.
These poems are usually, but not always about nature. It is similar to a haiku.
Applications for History Class:
A Tanka can be used to describe a person, event, geography, or
experience of the period being studied. Art projects go very well with this
type of poem.
