Point of View Poem
Poetry Description:
A point of
view poem can describe an event, person or experience, but is told from the
point of view of an inanimate object.
Applications for History Class:
A
Point of View Poem can explain about an event, experience or person, but since
it is told from the point of view of an object, it has an interesting twist.
Directions:
Choose an
object. Write a poem about life from the point of view of that object. What is
this object like? What angers or frustrates this object. What makes this object
happy? What are the dreams or goals of this object? The poem could make a
commentary about life during the historical period being studied.
Sample:
I ride into battle
Assyrians created me
My two wheels are Mesopotamian
My rider is a warrior
With Sword of Iron
I strike fear into all who oppose me
I am a deadly vehicle
Pulled by horses
My driver is brutal and powerful
My aim is true
I will be victorious!
