"How To" Poem
Poetry Description:
A ÒHow ToÓ poem consists of a list of instructions. The first line tells the
subject. The ending wraps it all up. It
is a variation of a list poem.
Applications for History Class:
This type
of poem can explain a process or task.
Directions:
The first line of the poem should name
the task in some way.
Next there is a list of instructions about how to
achieve this task. The last line wraps up the entire poem.
This poem may
or may not rhyme.

the plant
Cut
some stalks
Slice
the stems
Lay
them flat
Vertically
and horizontally
Press
them hard
Let
the pulp be like glue

a brush and some ink
